Henan, a province in Central China’s Yellow River Valley, is widely recognized as the place where Chinese civilization originated. There are 4 ancient capitals within its borders. Luoyang, capital during multiple dynasties, is home to Baima Si (White Horse Temple). Founded in the 1st century, it's among China’s first Buddhist temples. Nearby, the Longmen Grottoes have Buddhist rock carvings dating to the 5th century.

Shaolin Temple is a sacred Buddhist site in China and the ancestral home of the "Zen" sect of Chinese Buddhism. In 527 AD, the famous Indian monk Bodhidharma (Dharma Patriarch) sailed to southern China by sea, then crossed the Yangtze River to the Central Plains and came to Shaolin. He sat in meditation and taught the Dharma in the area behind the Shaolin Temple, and pioneered the Zen teaching of "imparting the mind with the mind", thus establishing the lofty status of Shaolin Temple as the ancestral home of the Zen sect.

Itinerary

Apr 9: Picking up from Luoyang airport or train station, check into Holiday Inn express for 3 days. Have meal at local restaurant and go watching “Shaolin show”.

Apr 10: meet at lobby at 8.30 having breakfast together. Go to “Shaolin temple". Then go to “Ruins of Yingtian Gate of Luoyang City in Sui and Tang Dynasties” in town.

Apr 11: meet at lobby at 9.30, go to “Laojun Mountain Scenic Area”

Apr 12: after breakfast, check out and drive to Kaifeng city, check in Holiday inn express for 1 night.

Apr 13: check out and Visit “Qingming Riverside Park”, which was painted by renown artist Zhang zeduan, before driving to Qufu, Shandong province, the home town of Kong Qiu. Check into Shangeri-La hotel for 2 nights.

Apr 14: Visiting “Qufu Three Confucian Temples Scenic Area” After early dinner, watch “Nishan Holy Land Golden Voice and Jade Performance”

Apr 15: After breakfast, drive to nearby airport or train station.
